Frequently asked questions
Everything students ask before they upload their first file, in one place.
How does StudyPolar turn my notes into an exam?
Upload a PDF, Word doc or slide deck and the AI writes exam-style questions from it: multiple choice, true or false, free response. You pick the type, difficulty and language before it builds.
What happens when I get a question wrong?
It comes back tomorrow. And the day after. Daily spaced repetition moves every question through four steps, and a wrong answer repeats until you can answer it right three times. Escape is not an option.
Is this just fancy flashcards?
Flashcards quiz you on what you already wrote down. StudyPolar writes questions you didn't see coming, hits the same idea from different angles, and explains your mistake when you miss.
What can I upload?
PDFs, Word docs and PowerPoints. Lecture slides, textbook chapters, study guides, your own messy notes. If it opens as a document, it works.
Do I have to study every day?
A few minutes most days beats one heroic all-nighter. Your streak keeps score, and your friends on the leaderboard keep you honest.
Why a penguin?
Penguins get through brutal winters the same way students get through finals: one small step every day, together. Also, look at him.
How do I get started?
Upload your first PDF, Word doc or slide deck, pick your question type, difficulty and language, and StudyPolar builds a practice exam from it in seconds. There is no complicated setup and no lengthy onboarding to sit through. You answer, it grades you, and the questions you miss come back until you have them down.
Is StudyPolar free?
Yes. The free Little penguin plan lets you generate practice quizzes ten times a month, with up to five questions each time, at no cost. When exam season arrives and you want unlimited practice, Polar Pro unlocks unlimited quiz generation, longer documents and far more questions per quiz.
Which subjects does it work for?
If your material opens as a document, it works. Students use StudyPolar for everything from biology and law to history and languages, because the questions are written from your own content rather than a fixed question bank.
How is StudyPolar different from ChatGPT or Quizlet?
A general chatbot hands you the answer; StudyPolar makes you produce it. It writes questions from your own material, grades you, explains what you got wrong using your notes, and brings each question back on a spaced schedule until it sticks. Flashcards quiz you on what you already wrote down. StudyPolar asks the questions you did not see coming, and hits each idea from a few different angles.
